Maria Bisso, young Spanish soprano,was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and received her vocal and musical education at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón and Conservatorio Nacional de Musica „C. Lopez Buchardo“(piano). She studied with Ruthilde Boesch in Vienna, and nowadays she controls her voice with soprano Edita Gruberova.
In 2001 she was prize-winning at the „Maria Callas“ International Competition in Sao Pablo (Brasil), being immediatly singled-out by the famos tenor Luigi Alva, who was president of the jury. She sang the rol of Pamina in Mozart’s „Die Zauberflöte“ under conductor Antonio Russo, the rol of Medora in Giuseppe Verdi’s „Il Corsaro“ at the Teatro Roma de Avellaneda under Andres Juncos. She sang also Lauretta in Puccini’s „Gianni Schicchi“ at the Teatro Libertador San Martin of Cordoba. She made her debut at the Teatro Colón in July 2002 as soprano soloist in Johann Sebastian Bach’s “ Johannes Passion „, conducted by Mario Videla, sharing the stage with world-renowned artists like Bernarda Fink, Gerd Türk and Víctor Torres.
In 2003 she sang in the Teatro Argentino of La Plata Zerlina in Mozart’s „Don Giovanni“ , Musetta in Puccini’s „La Boheme“ , under conductor Mario De Rose, Ellen in Delibes’s „Lakmé“ , under maestro Fernando Alvarez, and Frasquita in Bizet’s „Carmen“ sharing the stage with tenor Luis Lima. In 2004 she sang as soprano soloist in Carl Orff’s “ Carmina Burana“ in Paraiba, Brasil and also many recitals with opera and operetta repertoire in Matera, Altamura and Metaponto, Italy.
In 2005 she was invited by Vienna University of Music, to sing the role of Serpina, in Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrona”. She sang for “Bezirksfestwochen” in Vienna giving concerts with Spanish songs repertoire in Instituto Cervantes. She also sang in Rumania, opera repertoire concerts with Philarmonic Orchestra of Satu Mare. She was also invited by the reputed chamber ensemble “Bach Consort Wien” to sing the cantata “La Lucrezia” by G. F. Haendel in Museum Liechtenstein, Vienna. She sang also Gilda (Rigoletto-Verdi), in Stara Zagora Opera Haus, Bulgaria, under conductor Ricardo Rodriguez Moreso.
In 2006 she was invited to sing in Shanghai Grand Opera a Gala Concert with Shanghai Philarmonic Orchestra, in Guanzhou with Shenzhen Philarmonic Orchestra and in Taiyuan with Taiyuan Philarmonic Orchestra. Maria Bisso was selected to sing in Lorraine Opera Haus (France), beeing conducted by maestro Jose Cura. In abril 2008 she recorded one dvd of Mahler’s 4th Symphonie with Sofia Philarmonic Orchestra. In october 2008 she did her Debut at Vienna’s Musikverein, together with Bach Consort Wien, and Mezzosoprano Bernanda Fink under Maestro Rubén Dubrovsky.
This year she will sing Mahler’s 4th Symphonie at International at Round Top Festival in Houston, Texas, Usa under conductor Christoph Campestrini. Also Maria Bisso will sing with tenor Jose Cura Gala-Concerts, in Pula, Croazia, and in Belgrado Serbia.
She sings mainly Barroc Repertoire, like Poppea (L’incoronazzione di Poppea-Monteverdi), Drusilla ( L’incoronazzione di Poppea-Monteverdi), Morgana (Alcina-Haendel), Cleopatra ( Giulio Cesare- Haendel), etc.
